Innovation Island Bornholm is an energy system that serves multiple customers in a real-world and complete energy system, including four district heating systems, and operating entirely on 100% renewable-based electricity and heating. The energy system provides essential data and insights into our research facilities and labs and can be utilised for advanced exploration into sustainable grid technologies.
